2025 Conference: Reacting to the Past Session
2025 Conference: Reacting to the Past Session
It’s harder than ever to get students to look up from their phones, talk to each other, read, and engage with ideas. Reacting to the Past (RTTP), a series of classroom role-playing games written by scholars, can help. In this workshop you will play a condensed version of an RTTP game in order to get a sense of what the pedagogy feels like for our students, hear from instructor and student RTTP veterans, and get trained to run a game in your classroom. The workshop takes place on Thursday, February 6.
At least half a dozen games pertain to the eighteenth century or English.
Participants should devote roughly two hours to prepare.
Lunch included.
